The project also aimed to increase the engagement of local communities in creative activities and give them a common purpose - breaking a world record! Dr. Emerson has a life long passion for stitching and as well as being a trained teacher, has had a professional career in museums and research. The "big sock PROJECT" was made and assembled by volunteers and groups in the community and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
