Fine and Dandy August Craft Month Market & Demo Day

Where: The Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast
Showcasing the work of independent artists & designers, join the Fine & Dandy Market for this special 'Meet the Maker' day. You will be able to participate in workshops & watch demonstrations by creative professionals. Live silversmithing demonstrations throughout the day with Belfast Jeweller, Cyril Flannigan of Ember Jewellery. Drop in Crochet workshops with Nadine Arbuthnot-Cassidy from Stitches & Stitches. Rosemary McCartney from Simply Spun will be giving wheel spinning demonstrations throughout the day, as well as holding a Brooch making workshop. This workshop requires booking at a cost of £2.50, details of which can be found here.
Helen Perry from Strombolitwo will be running drop in make & take workshops, were participants can use vintage kimono silks to create their own kanzashi brooch. Debbie McCann from Wee Yarn Designs will demonstrate how to make a Crosswheel Dorset Button and talk a little about the history of this heritage craft. There will also be a childrens craft area and a whole host of fine crafts on display during the day.
Advance booking will only be required for the Simply Sun workshop. There will be two sessions, approx. 20 mins each. Suitable for 10 years +. Make and Take - an opportunity to design your own sheep brooch. To decide on the colour of its face and feet and then choose a fabric for the body. The cost is set by the designer and will be £2.50.
