Dyeing Wool Using Natural Dyes

When: 10am-4pm 15/08/2017 & 25/08/2017

Where: 53 Wandsworth Road, Belfast

Price: £55

This course will be taught by Kay from LoopyKate Fibres and will be held in her garden workshop in East Belfast. In this course, you will look at how to extract colours from natural materials and apply them to wool. You'll learn how to mordant the fibre so that the colours are more fast, as well as how to use some of the plants around you to colour the wool. Since these are natural materials, they don’t always behave in quite the way we expect them to, so it is always a fun, experimental day!

Participants may wish to bring an apron or similar to protect clothing. There will be rubber gloves available, but you may wish to bring your own. Also, since the day includes lunch and tasty treats, please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Minimum recommended age is 14, when accompanied by an adult.
